Are you enjoying summer where you live or is this the point in time when it's s sweltering that you've started pining away for an early fall?!

Happy 4th of July, friends!

For some reason, it doesn't seem like it's already time for this mid-summer holiday. Maybe it's because the weather here in Skaneateles has been on the cooler side, even for our usual not-so-sweltering summer temperatures.

Nonetheless, we're down for a little patriotic grilling session!

Don't get me wrong - I certainly don't have anything against bar carts. In fact I love using them whenever the party's happening in a space that doesn't have a "real" bar handy .

After spending a loooonnnng winter knee deep in snow (both on and off the slopes!), this Central NY  mama is ready to get a little warm weather style in her life - pronto!

Nevermind that we just had two nearly apocalyptic snowstorms here in Skaneateles - and that we currently have a forecast for more snow all week long!

My mind is set firmly on springtime, which also means I'm longing for vases and vases of blooms fresh from the garden!

And that all got me thinking about how much the mood we're trying to set when we entertain is impacted by the types of flowers we use.
