frequently asked questions

Q

must we meet in person?

While we value meeting clients in person whenever possible, it is not required. Many of our clients live outside of Vermont, and meetings can be held virtually. Samples and materials are shipped as needed, allowing clients to experience quality, color, and texture regardless of location.

Q

What if I change my mind after I order?

Once an order is placed and accepted by a vendor, it typically cannot be canceled. In some cases, stocked items may be eligible for cancellation or return, subject to vendor policies and fees. Our process includes multiple review and approval points to ensure clients feel confident in selections before orders are finalized.

Q

How long will my project take?

Each project is unique, and timelines are shaped by scope, location, and complexity. Our discovery conversation and early planning phases allow us to assess the project thoughtfully and establish realistic expectations. Throughout the process, our role is to guide the work forward with clarity, steady communication, and care.

Q

How do you set your design fees?

Design fees are tailored to each project. Following the initial conversation, we prepare a custom proposal outlining scope and estimated design hours. We prioritize transparency and provide ongoing communication so clients remain informed as the project progresses.

Q

What is your design style?

Teaselwood’s work is guided by mountain living rather than a singular aesthetic. Our designs often reflect a balance of warmth and restraint—natural materials, thoughtful proportions, and comfortable, durable furnishings suited to active lifestyles. While each project is personal, our portfolio is unified by a calm, considered approach rooted in place.

Q

What is included in an initial conversation?

The initial conversation is a discovery-focused discussion designed to understand your vision and determine mutual fit. Ahead of this call, our team gathers preliminary information to make the conversation productive and thoughtful. We discuss your lifestyle, goals, aesthetic direction, budget considerations, and general timeline, and we share an overview of our approach so you can move forward with clarity.

Yes. Procuring furnishings through Teaselwood allows us to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with the overall design vision. We work with a carefully curated network of trusted vendors and artisans, including opportunities for customization when appropriate. Our team manages ordering, tracking, inspection, storage, delivery, and installation, allowing the process to feel seamless and well-supported.

Q

Do I purchase furnishings through you?

Full-service interior design means Teaselwood guides your project from concept through completion. We lead design development, material and furnishings selection, procurement, coordination with trades, and installation—often alongside construction. Supported by decades of combined experience and a trusted network of artisans and professionals, our role is to ensure the process feels cohesive, well-managed, and thoughtfully executed from start to finish.

Q

What is Full-Service Interior Design?

As part of a tight-knit mountain community, our team has an exclusive team of contractors and is skilled at matching experts capable of uniquely serving each project. Teaselwood also collaborates with clients’ existing architects, builders, and general contractors.

Q

Will you work with my architect, builder, or general contractor?

Based in south-central Vermont, Teaselwood regularly serves clients in Okemo, Killington, Stratton, Sugarbush, and Stowe. Many of our clients maintain primary residences outside of Vermont, and we also take on select projects throughout New England and mountain regions including Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, and beyond.
