The Jenny House, or the “Sunset Tavern,” comes with centuries of history.
Built in 1787 by Captain Leonard Proctor, he and his wife, Mary Keep Proctor, lived here for over 30 years. The youngest Proctor son then made it his family’s home, followed by the Jenny family.
At one time, the home even had a glove factory attached to the back of the house. It is a special place.Built mostly of wood, the Jenny House is locally famous for its intricate, hand-carved decorations.
It is constructed of timber frame, with an original fan window that still operates on the third floor. To restore its luster for modern-day living, we renovated it from top to bottom. We layered the interiors with neutral furnishings and crisp, modern finishes to accentuate the home’s stunning natural wood features.
