This Buttery Yellow Bedroom will Make You Melt

Spring is in full swing here at Teaselwood Design and we have the pictures to prove it. Recently, a client asked us to makeover a guest bedroom in her 1800s farmhouse. Because the room was transitioning from her daughter's bedroom into a guest room, we had to find a design that would appeal not only to a guest but also to our client's daughter, who would still occasionally use the room. She wanted something airy and just a bit whimsical without being over-the-top.

We updated the room with custom drapery, window seat cushions, pillows, bedding, and lovely yellow paint. A majority of the fabrics we used are from Duralee, a fabulous company that takes traditional fabric patterns and recolors them with modern palettes.

Here's a sneak peek at the color palettes we used for this design:

We love these palettes for so many reasons. The yellow brings energy to the room while the gray and white keep it toned down and centered. It's the perfect balance of feminine, farmhouse charm.

Take a Room Tour

This antique, four poster bed is a sight to behold. As to not detract from it, we chose a simple bedspread with patterened pillows and a bed skirt with a contrasting pattern, to build interest.

The gorgeous window seat was upholstered with yet another contrasting pattern and billowy, roman shades.

We finished the look by added drapery panels on either side of the window. These panels were placed on the walls around the windows, which makes the window area look even more expanisive.

The Intricate Details Matter

We carefully curated the patterns and fabrics for this bedroom, layering texture upon texture to create a look that echoed the home's history while remaining current to 2017 and beyond.

Our client and her daughter were overjoyed with the bedroom and we've pretty proud of ourselves too. Every detail, color, and placement matter deeply to us, and we never miss an opportunity to put our creative minds to work.

At Teaselwood Design, we get really excited about creating beautiful and inviting spaces for our clients and their families. We work closely with you to design a home that's all about the little details, designed with your lifestyle in mind. Contact us about your project today.
